Soil Carbon Hillslope Relationships at Stanley

IS THERE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOIL CARBON & NITROGEN & HILLSLOPE POSITION?
IS THERE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN 137CS & HILLSLOPE POSITION?
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOIL C & N AND CATCHMENT PROPERTIES?

Summary.
No relationship between soil carbon, nitrogen & 137Cs and hillslope position.
No relationship between soil carbon, nitrogen & 137Cs and above-ground biomass, NDVI, pH, EC.

Cultivated/tilled site studies suggest 137Cs and soil carbon move along similar pathways.
We found:
1.Very weak relationships between 137Cs and SC at previously cultivated sites (T3, T4)
2.No relationships at uncultivated sites (T1, T2).

Conclusion.

Use of 137Cs in uncultivated sites to examine soil carbon redistribution patterns may not be appropriate.
